since you changed the strtear I knw you saw the main power (large wire) and the trigger wire (small wire) get an inexpensive test light and ground the clamp then pull the trigger wire put the test light probe on the trigger wire and turn the key does it light on the first try or the 4th try? if its first try and every time go get a new strtear if its not lighting consistantly then you need to trace that trigger wire side note if it does not light consistantly try and wiggle the gear indicator (automatic trans) see if holding it makes the test light consistant good luck!
